Italian Appetizer (Antipasti) Recipes - Baked Eggs with Parmesan (Uova al Forno con Parmigiano) Recipe

Ingredients

  • 25 g/1 oz/2 tbsp unsalted (sweet) butter

  • 50 g/2 oz/1/2 cup Parmesan cheese, grated

  • 4 eggs

  • Salt and freshly ground black pepper

  • Black Olive Bread


Method:

  1. Grease 4 small ramekin dishes (custard cups) with half the butter. Sprinkle with the Parmesan cheese and break an egg into each dish.

  2. Add a small knob of butter and season with the salt and pepper.

  3. Place on a baking sheet and bake in a preheated oven at 180°C/350°F/gas mark 4 for 10 minutes.

  4. Serve immediately with slices of Black Olive Bread.
