Yeast Pastry
(Pasta Lievitata) Recipe
Ingredients
-
225 g/8 oz plain (all-purpose) flour
-
2.5 ml/1/2 tsp salt
-
2.5 ml/1/2 tsp sugar
-
5 ml/1 tsp
easy-blend dried yeast
-
15 ml/1 tbsp olive oil or
melted
-
unsalted (sweet)
butter Hand-hot water
Method:
-
Mix the flour, salt, sugar and yeast in a bowl. Stir
in the oil or butter.

Mix with enough hot water to
form a soft, but not sticky, dough. Knead gently on
a lightly floured surface for 5 minutes.

Return to
the bowl and cover with Clingfilm (plastic wrap).
Leave to rise in a warm place for 45 minutes.
-
Re-knead, roll out thinly and use as required.
