Italian Desserts Recipes - Figs in Grappa (Fichi con Grappa) Recipe

Ingredients

  • 12 dried figs

  • 25 g/2 tbsp caster (superfine) sugar

  • 120 ml/4 fl oz/1/2 cup Grappa or brandy

  • 12 fresh mint leaves, to decorate


Method:

  1. Put the figs in a bowl and sprinkle over the sugar. Allow to stand for 30 minutes and pour over the Grappa.

  2. Cover loosely with greaseproof (waxed) paper. Set aside at room temperature for 14 days, stirring occasionally.

  3. Divide the figs, among 6 plates and decorate with the mint leaves.
