Italian Fish Recipes - Baked Mustard and Herb Fish (Pesce al Forno con Mostarda e Odori) Recipe

 

Ingredients             

  • Oil for greasing

  • 450 g/1 lb thick white fish fillets, skinned

  • 45 ml/3 tbsp double (heavy) cream or crème fraiche

  • 15 ml/1 tbsp made mustard

  • 30 ml/2 tbsp chopped fresh herbs

  • 1.5 ml/1/4 tsp chopped fresh root ginger

  • Salt and freshly ground black pepper


Method:

  1. Brush an ovenproof dish with the oil and add the fish fillets.

  2. Blend the cream, mustard, fresh herbs and ginger together in a bowl.

  3. Season the cod fillets with salt and pepper and spread with the cream mixture.

  4. Bake in a preheated oven at 180°C/350°F/ gas mark 4 for 25 minutes.
