Italian Fish Recipes - Grilled Red Mullet (Triglie alla Griglia) Recipe

 

Ingredients             

  • 4 red mullet, cleaned and scaled

  • 60 ml/4 tbsp olive oil

  • 2 bay leaves

  • 15 ml/1 tbsp vinegar

  • Salt and freshly ground black pepper


Method:

  1. Split the fish down the centre. Place on a grill (broiler) pan.

  2. Put the olive oil in a saucepan with the bay leaves and simmer for 4-5 minutes. Stir in the vinegar and salt and pepper.

  3. Brush a little of the sauce over the mullet and grill (broil) slowly for 8-10 minutes or until the flesh flakes easily when tested with a fork, brushing frequently with the baste.
