Italian Fish Recipes - Lobster with Devilled Sauce (Aragosta con Salsa alla Diavola) Recipe

 

Ingredients             

  • 2 large lobsters, cooked

  • 15 g/1/2 oz/1 tbsp unsalted (sweet) butter

  • 15 ml/1 tbsp olive oil

  • 1 onion, chopped

  • 4 large tomatoes, chopped

  • 15 ml/1 tbsp clear honey

  • Juice of 1 lemon

  • 15 ml/1 tbsp chopped fresh oregano


Method:

  1. Halve the lobsters and crack the claws. Remove the gills, the green sac behind the head and the black vein along the body.

  2. Place the lobsters in a casserole dish (Dutch oven). Melt the butter in a saucepan and stir in the oil.

  3. Fry (sauté) the onion and add the tomatoes, honey and lemon juice. Stir in the oregano and cook for 1 minute, stirring.

  4. Pour the sauce over the lobsters and bake in a preheated oven at 180°C/350°F/gas mark 4 for 15 minutes.
