Italian Meatballs (Polpettine)

Ingredients

450 g/1 lb/4 cups
lean minced (ground) beef

1 large onion,
finely chopped
-
50 g/2 oz/1 cup
fresh breadcrumbs
-
1 egg, beaten
-
15 ml/1 tbsp chopped
fresh herbs
-
50 g/2 oz/1/2 cup
sage and onion stuffing
-
Salt and freshly
ground black pepper

Piquant Chinese
Sauce, to serve
Method:

Combine all the ingredients together in a large
mixing bowl. Shape the mixture firmly into 18 balls.

Put the meatballs in a greased ovenproof dish and
cook in a preheated oven at 190°C/375°F/gas mark 5
for 25 minutes until browned.
-
Serve with Piquant
Chinese Sauce.
