Wine Chops (Braciole al Vino)

Ingredients

45 ml/3 tbsp
plain (all-purpose) flour
-
Salt and freshly ground
black pepper

5 ml/1 tsp chopped fresh thyme
-
4 thick veal chops
-
60 ml/4 tbsp olive
oil
-
100 g/4 oz
mushrooms, sliced
-
1 onion, sliced
-
250 ml/1
cup white wine
Method:
-
Season the flour with salt, pepper and thyme. Use to coat the veal chops.
Heat the oil and brown the chops on both sides.

Remove to a casserole dish (Dutch oven). Add the
mushrooms and onion to the frying
pan (skillet) and
cook
for 3
minutes.

Add to
the casserole. Pour the wine into the pan, simmer
for 5 minutes then pour over the chops.

Cover and
cook in a preheated oven at 200°C/400°F/gas mark 6
for 40 minutes.
