Chicken and
Macaroni Casserole (Sformato di Pollo e Maccheroni) Recipe
Ingredients
-
225 g/8 oz elbow
macaroni
-
Oil for greasing
-
4 carrots, diced
-
1 onion, chopped
-
225 g/8 oz/2 cups
cooked chicken, diced
-
1 green (bell) pepper, diced
-
Salt and freshly
ground black pepper
-
2 eggs
-
300 ml/1 1/4
cups milk
Method:
-
Bring a large pan of salted water to the boil and cook the macaroni for
15 minutes until tender.
-
Drain and place in an oiled
casserole dish (Dutch oven). Add the carrots,
onion, chicken, green pepper, salt and pepper.
-
Beat
the eggs and milk together in a bowl and pour over
the vegetables.
-
Place the casserole dish in
a roasting tin (pan) of hot water and bake in a
preheated oven at 180°C/350°F/gas mark 4 for 1 hour.
Serve immediately.
