Pasta Bows with
Tomato Sauce (Farfalle con Salsa di Pomodoro) Recipe
Ingredients
-
15 ml/1 tbsp oil
-
1 onion, chopped
-
400 g/14 oz/1large
can of chopped tomatoes
-
Salt and freshly
ground black pepper
-
350 g/12 oz pasta bows
-
100 g/4 oz
Mozzarella cheese, chopped
-
5 ml/1 tsp chopped fresh
basil
-
Pecorino cheese, grated, to serve
Method:
-
Heat the oil and cook
the onion for 5 minutes until soft. Add the
tomatoes and cook slowly for 15 minutes.

Bring a
large pan of salted water to the boil and cook the farfalle for 8 minutes. Drain and return to the
saucepan.

Pour over the tomato sauce and stir in the
Mozzarella cheese. Toss gently. Turn on to warm
plates.

Sprinkle over the basil and some Pecorino
cheese and serve straight
away.
