Italian Pasta Recipes - Penne with Crab (Penne con Grancho) Recipe

Ingredients                     

  • 225 g/8 oz crabmeat, flaked

  • 10 ml/2 tsp olive oil

  • 2.5 ml/1/2 tsp salt

  • 450 g/1lb fresh penne

  • 25 g/1 oz/2 tbsp unsalted (sweet) butter

  • 10 ml/2 tsp chopped fresh sage

  • 5 ml/1 tsp freshly ground black pepper


Method:

  1. Check the crabmeat to ensure there is no remaining shell. Put the oil and salt in boiling water and add the fresh penne.

  2. Boil for 3-4 minutes until the pasta is firm but cooked. Drain and return to the hot pan.

  3. Add the butter, sage, crabmeat and pepper. Toss well until piping hot and serve immediately.
