Italian Pasta Recipes - Spaghetti Alsacienne (Spaghetti all' Alsaziana) Recipe

Ingredients                 

  • 350 g/12 oz spaghetti

  • 50 g/2 oz/1/4 cup unsalted (sweet) butter

  • Salt and freshly ground black pepper

  • 100 g/4 oz Bel Paese cheese, cut into chunks

  • 5 ml/1 tsp chopped fresh basil

  • 100 g/4 oz lean ham, chopped

  • 400 ml/1 3/4 cups Tomato Sauce


Method:

  1. Bring a pan of salted water to the boil and add the spaghetti. Cook for 10 minutes until tender but still firm. Drain and add the butter.

  2. Return the pan to the heat for a few seconds and season with the salt and pepper.

  3. Stir in the cheese, basil and ham. Pile into a serving dish and pour over the hot Tomato Sauce.
