Ingredients

1 quantity Spicy
Pizza Dough

Oil for greasing

ml/4 tbsp Basil Sauce
-
15 ml/1 tbsp olive
oil
-
1 onion, chopped
-
200 g/7 oz/1 small
can chopped tomatoes
-
Salt and freshly
ground black pepper

100 g/4 oz Mozzarella cheese,
sliced
-
4 bacon rashers (slices), rinded and roughly chopped
-
5 ml/1 tsp chopped
fresh oregano
Method:
-
Prepare the pizza base. Roll out to a 25 cm/10 in diameter circle on a
floured surface and place on an oiled baking sheet.

Leave to rise in a warm place f6r 25 minutes.
Spread the Basil Sauce over.

Heat the oil in a
frying pan (skillet) and cook the chopped onion for
2 minutes.

Pour in the tomatoes and cook for 10
minutes until the juice has evaporated. Season with
the salt and pepper.

Spread the tomato mixture on to
the pizza base up to 2 cm/1/4 in from the edge.
Layover the sliced Mozzarella and the bacon.

Sprinkle with oregano and bake in a preheated oven
at 220°C/425°F/gas mark 7 for 15-20 minutes until
golden and bubbling.
