Pizza Dough (Pizza alla Margherita) Recipe
Ingredients
Topping:
-
100 ml/6 1/2 tbsp passata (sieved tomatoes)
-
100 g/4 oz
Mozzarella cheese, chopped
-
1.5 ml/1/4 tsp dried
oregano
-
1 large tomato,
skinned, halved and cut in slices
-
8 basil leaves,
torn in pieces
-
Salt and freshly
ground black pepper
-
30 ml/2 tbsp olive
oil
Method:

Prepare the pizza dough. Spread the risen pizza base
with the passata to within 2 cm/3/4 in of the edge all
round.

Sprinkle over the Mozzarella, oregano and
tomato slices then scatter over the tom basil
leaves. Season lightly and drizzle with the olive
oil.

Bake in a preheated oven at 230C/450F/gas
mark 8 for 10-15 minutes until the pizza is crisp
and golden round the edges and the cheese has melted
and is just beginning to brown.
