Mushroom Pizza
(Pizza ai Funghi) Recipe
Ingredients
Topping:
-
15 ml/1 tbsp olive
oil
-
1 onion, finely
sliced
-
100 g/4 oz
mushrooms, sliced
-
400 g/1
large can tomatoes, drained and chopped
-
5 ml/1 tsp chopped
fresh basil
-
Salt and freshly
ground black pepper
-
175 g/6 oz Mozzarella
cheese, sliced
Method:
-
Prepare the pizza base and leave to rise. Prepare the topping.

Heat the
oil in a frying pan (skillet) and cook the onion
until translucent.
-
Add the mushrooms and fry (sauté)
for 4-5 minutes until tender.
-
Arrange the tomatoes
over the dough and sprinkle with the basil.
-
Season
with the salt and pepper and top with the onion and
mushrooms and the Mozzarella slices.
-
Bake in a
preheated oven at 220°C/425°F/gas mark 7 for
15-20 minutes until golden and bubbling.
