Italian Pizza Recipes - Pizza with Raw Ham (Pizza di Prosciutto Crudo) Recipe

Ingredients       

  • 1 quantity Basic Pizza Dough

  • 15 ml/1 tbsp olive oil

  • 30 ml/2 tbsp passata (sieved tomatoes)

  • 15 ml/1 tbsp Prosciutto Crudo, chopped

  • 15 ml/1 tbsp chopped fresh oregano

  • 50 g/2 oz Mozzarella cheese, sliced


Method:

  1. Press the pizza dough into a 25 cm/10 in circle and place on a greased pizza tin (pan).

  2. Cover with Clingfilm (plastic wrap) and leave in a warm place for 30 minutes until the dough has risen. Brush with the oil.

  3. Cover the pizza base with the passata and ham. Sprinkle with the oregano and top with the sliced Mozzarella cheese.

  4. Bake in a preheated oven for 10-15 minutes at 230°C/450°F/gas mark 8 until golden and bubbling.
