Piquant Chinese
Sauce (Salsa Piccante Cinese) Recipe
Ingredients

15 ml/1 tbsp corn flour (cornstarch)

5 ml/1 tsp soy sauce
-
5 ml/1 tsp finely
chopped fresh root ginger

225 g/8 oz/1 small
can chopped pineapple

30 ml/2 tbsp brown
sugar
-
45 ml/3 tbsp wine
vinegar

2 celery sticks,
finely chopped
Method:

Blend the corn flour
with the soy sauce. Put the chopped ginger and the
crushed pineapple into a saucepan and heat until
almost boiling.

Stir in the sugar, vinegar and
chopped celery. Gradually mix in the blended corn flour and cook, stirring all the time until the
sauce thickens.

Pour over meatballs or chicken and
serve at once.
