Italian Recipes - Sauce of the Honey Bees (Sausse di Avije) Recipe
Ingredients
12 walnut halves
30 ml/2 tbsp boiling water
1.5 ml/1/4 tsp beef extract
20 ml/4 tsp French mustard
100 g/4 oz/1/3 cup clear honey
Freshly ground black pepper
Method:
Plunge the walnuts in boiling water for 2 minutes. Drain and rub off the skins.
Puree in a blender or food processor or pound with a pestle and mortar.
Blend the water and beef extract together and blend into the nuts with the mustard and honey.
Season well with pepper and serve with cold meats.
