Anchovy Bread (Focaccia all' Acciuga)

Ingredients

225 g/8 or/1 cup
unsalted (sweet) butter, softened

1 garlic clove,
crushed
-
6 anchovies, finely
chopped

2.5 ml/1/2 tsp salt

Method:

Cream the butter, garlic and anchovies together.
Slice the bread crosswise to within 5 mm/1/4
in of the bottom.

Spread the butter mixture generously on one side of
each of the slices.

Wrap the loaf in foil and place
on a baking sheet in the oven.

Bake in a preheated
oven at 200°C/400°F/gas mark 6 for 15 minutes.
Remove from the foil and serve while still warm.

This is also good served with soup.
