Asparagus in Pastry (Pasticcio all' Asparago)

Method:

Melt the butter
in a saucepan. Trim the ends of the asparagus
spears.

Brush the surface
of a sheet of filo pastry with the melted butter.

Spoon over a
little of the cream cheese and top with an asparagus
spear. Season to taste.

Fold the ends
then roll up the pastry and brush the surface with
more butter.

Make the
remaining rolls in the same way. Place on a buttered
baking sheet and cook in a preheated oven at
180C/350F/gas mark 4 for 15 minutes.
