Italian Snacks and Light Meals Recipes - Eggs Baked with Gorgonzola (Uova al Forno con Gorgonzola) Recipe

 

Ingredients

  • 5 ml/1 tsp unsalted (sweet) butter

  • 4 eggs

  • 50 g/2 oz Gorgonzola, crumbled

  • 2.5 ml/1/2 tsp freshly ground black pepper

  • 2.5 ml/1/2 tsp grated nutmeg

  • 50 g/2 oz/1 cup fresh breadcrumbs


Method:

  1. Butter a pie dish. Break the eggs into the dish.

  2. Mix the Gorgonzola with the pepper, nutmeg and breadcrumbs and spoon over the eggs.

  3. Bake in a preheated oven at 200°C/400°F/gas mark 6 for 8 minutes until the eggs are just set and the breadcrumbs are golden.
