Italian Ham and Pesto Slice (Fette di Prosciutto

Ingredients

1 Pugliese round
crusty loaf

40 ml/8 tsp passata
(sieved tomatoes)

40 ml/8 tsp Pesto

8 thin slices
prosciutto
-
100 g/4 oz
Mozzarella, sliced

8 tomatoes, sliced

5 ml/1 tsp freshly
ground black pepper

10 ml/2 tsp chopped fresh basil
Method:

Cut the loaf into 8 thick rounds and toast one side.
Top with passata then pesto.

Lay over the prosciutto,
then the Mozzarella and tomato slices. Sprinkle with
the pepper.

Grill (broil) until the cheese melts.
Sprinkle with the chopped basil.
