Italian Vegetable Dishes Recipes - Broccoli Bake (Broccoli al Forno) Recipe

Ingredients              

  • 3 eggs

  • 120 ml/4 fl oz/1/2 cup milk

  • 120 ml/4 fl oz/1/2 cup single (light) cream

  • 100 g/4 oz/1 cup hard cheese, grated

  • 100 g/4 oz Mozzarella cheese, chopped

  • 1 onion, chopped

  • 275 g/10 oz frozen broccoli, thawed and chopped

  • 25 cm/10 in pastry case (pie shell)


Method:

  1. Beat the eggs, milk, cream, cheeses, and onion together and blend with the chopped broccoli.

  2. Pour into the unbaked pastry case and cook in a preheated oven at 190°C/375°F/gas mark 5 for 45 minutes until set and golden.

  3. Allow to stand 5 minutes before serving.
