Buttered French Beans (Fagiolini al Burro)

Ingredients

Salt

450 g/1lb French
(green) beans, trimmed
-
15 g/1 tbsp
butter
-
1 onion, chopped
-
1 garlic clove,
chopped

15 g/1 tbsp chopped
fresh parsley
-
15
ml/1 tbsp grated Parmesan cheese
Method:

Bring a pan of salted water to the boil and add
the French beans. Lower the heat and simmer
gently for 6 minutes or until tender.

Heat the
butter in a frying pan (skillet) and cook the
onion and garlic for 5 minutes until browned.

Lower the heat, season to taste and stir in the
parsley. Drain the beans and place in a hot
dish.

Pour over the melted butter and onions and
sprinkle with the Parmesan cheese. Place under a
hot grill (broiler) for 2 minutes.
